Are YOU Coachella ready?

Who's going to Coachella?!?!! Week 1or 2? Or both? Who are you excited to see?!?! If you're not going.. Are you going to stream any of the performances live? It'll be our first time going this year (week 2)!! When I say "our", I mean Erin, me and some of our friends and cousins.

For those of you who ARE going.. Have you packed and planned your outfits? Have you activated your wristbands and downloaded the app to your phone?

Here are a few things we came up with to add to your checklist!

When I travel or go to all-day events, I often try to avoid bringing my favorite items. This way, if you do lose a cheap pair of sunglasses, you won't be too upset with yourself! Pair your outfit with some comfy danceable sandals, a nice layer of bracelets, and a hands-free bag.

Boyfriend Jeans

It's been a really windy week and I've had a horrible cold for 2 weeks. I can finally smell and hear through both ears, so I celebrated by finishing a day off with some tea and a nice read outside!
I LOVE my new boyfriend jeans from Madewell. I've been looking for a good pair for awhile and am very happy with these. They're very stretchy and has the perfect amount of rips. And since spring is here, I paired them with my Nine West mid-heels and Zara floral jacket.

5 Must Haves in my Dream Space

1. Big windows!
It's so important for me to have lots of natural light flowing into a work/living space.
I work better with natural light and really changes my mood for the day!

2. Open Kitchen
Although the cooking smell does carry throughout the apt with an open kitchen, it's great having a breakfast bar, where you can still chat with friends while cooking!

3. Dining Area
This combination of dining table and chairs is effortless - not perfectly rectangular and just the right combination of chair colors.

4. Work Space
If you work at home a lot, it's important to have a nice work space. Can you believe this is from Ikea? So awesome! I am definitely going to look into this desk on the left.

5. Shelving
Shelves are super important! They take up most of your wall space so it's important to choose ones that match your personality and space.  Love these chairs too. :)

Well our taste changes all the time soo... in a year or so, I'll probably have 5 different must haves for my dream space.

Funky & Trendy HK

Sometimes you will find the funkiest styles in Hong Kong...
and other times you may stumble upon some super trendy people!!
This is Joe! He just recently moved from NY to HK and has a slight British accent.
and my favorite addition to the outfit...
the buttons and wallet hook

If you are living in HK or just visiting, I find it really fun to drink boba and people watch in Time Square, CWB. You'll find a great mixture of people! You may find people like this or like this!
Thanks for letting me photograph you Joe!

five minutes with Samantha Lena

About 3 years ago, I worked and studied in Madrid with a group of students from Cuse. Amongst these new friends, I met this awesome, quirky and fun-loving girl, Sam! Unfortunately, I couldn't interview her in person since we live on opposite sides of the States. But I am so excited to share with you a little bit about her and showcase some of her amazing photographs!
What camera do you use?
I use a Canon EOS 7D, but for more causal shooting I use a Sony NEX-5R.
What are your favorite things to photograph?
I really love to photograph nature and urban environments, but I also like to set up portraits where I have more control over artistic features.
What are your goals as a student and photographer?
I originally applied to Newhouse (School of Public Communications) at Syracuse for photojournalism, but quickly switched into film. I plan on trying to include photography while I can but not make it my main focus. My goal is to implement some positive changes to mass media while continuing a social justice education.
What do you like to do besides photography?
I really enjoy both skiing and traveling but rarely do so at the same time. I grew up skiing at Mount Snow in Vermont and was a member of the Syracuse Ski Team for two years. Last semester I studied in London where I was able to travel to Turkey, Ireland, Belgium, France and Germany. Spending time abroad has really had an influence on my photography and on my own personal growth.
What inspires you?
I'm inspired by moments. There are times where I'm driving in my car and I see something out the window and have to pull over to get the picture. I see in pictures. I've always wanted to be behind the camera, even as a kid in my parents home videos I'm asking to be behind the lens. Taking pictures has always been what I do. I think photography is tricky with truth, and truth is something I think is always worth exploring.
