NYC // Part II

It was mostly cloudy the few days we were there, but none-the-less I felt like the gloom fit the city. When I arrived early in the morning, my best friend from college took me to brunch (of course) at a place in Brooklyn called Cafe Ghia.  It was pretty bomb. They put waffles on top of bacon and eggs, and lots of melted cheese on roasted potatoes. Then we made our way west to Dumbo, where we got to see the beautiful glass house by Tom Fruin, and lots of girls wearing short skirts doing a photoshoot in the snow.. (what?)

Here's a list of places we ate at...
Brunch at Cafe Ghia
Dinner with Feng's cousin at Bozu in Williamsburg. A little pricy but amazing sushi.
Late night Joe's Pizza after the bars. It's where they shot Spider-Man!
A quiet dinner date with my bestie at VinoTapa in mid-town.
Another late night munchies at Artichoke.

On the last day, a bunch of us decided to bring our cameras out and make it a shoot day, so we started down in Chelsea and made our way up the highline. We stumbled upon the Gotham set and they were nice enough for us to shoot right outside!

Thank goodness for Heattech! This Uniqlo coat has Heattech lining and I'm also wearing a Heattech long sleeve underneath the sweater.
The last stop we made was the new PATH station down by ground zero.
You should check it out if you ever visit NYC!

5 Bedroom Finds

Unless you're going to buy the exact set of pillows, sheets and duvet straight from the catalogue, pairing your own pillows can be challenging! We love a wide range of colors and patterns so it's quite difficult for us to narrow it down. I read somewhere that if you make your bed in the morning, you're more likely to be productive during the day. Not sure if that's true or not but if you try it, let us know your results! Here are 5 bedroom styling inspirations we've chosen... Which one do you like the most?

Keeping it simple with greys and whites.

How about just one accent pillow?

NYC // Part I

It was sooo cold in NYC! I really don't know how I survived 4 years in Syracuse... haha. I had a blast visiting the city and catching up with old friends.  Every time I go, it's a different experience and this time I got to explore several new restaurants, shows and art exhibits with Feng.  On top of all that, we ate so much pizza... so much... I mean... We went to 3 different spots in 4 days..
My photographer friends also took me around to see all the new spots - which you can see some of the highlights on my instagram. I'm glad I left the city right before it hit 9 degrees but I'm sad I missed NYFW and the All Star basketball game!
I wore this plaid jacket a few times. It's surprisingly warm, but it also probably helps that I'm wearing 4 layers underneath. haha.. That's definitely the key to staying stylish and warm... LAYERS!!
Part II will be coming soon! Stay tuned!

5 Emergency Valentine's Day Ideas

Did you totally forget this Saturday was Valentine's Day? Are you out of ideas on what to do because the good restaurants are full and you don't want to get him/her flowers and chocolates? Here are 5 last minute emergency ideas based on a scale of laziness, 1 being extra lazy to 5 being boyfriend or girlfriend of the year...

1. Buy a Reservation
Ever heard of buying a reservation? Yea.. you can do that.. *poof* mind-blown! With Resy and Killer Rezzy, you can now reserve a table at those restaurants with impossible lines and ridiculous waits for a fee . Its like slipping the host a 20 to cut in line except through an app.

2. Cook at home with Plated

If you want a romantic dinner at home but don't have time for a quick trip to the super market, try Plated. You can choose any item from their weekly selection of dishes and they will deliver you all the ingredients you need plus the directions.

3. Spa Day at Home

Instead of spending $200 on a spa day package at a fancy hotel, how about a spa kit from Body Shop and spend the night comfortably in your own bed!

4. Have an Adventurous Night

There are hundreds of things you can do in a city besides eating at a fancy restaurant. How about having an adventurous night by choosing a random show, concert, or event and let the night take it's own course! You can find a bunch of activities on Time Out!

5. Staycation

Staycations are so much fun! And with the help of airbnb, you can find a cute little apartment somewhere not too far from home and see the city from a different perspective! Better yet, take advantage of this long weekend and take a surprise road trip!

As for me, I'll probably be having a super productive work day at home, or I'll sit on my couch, order in and binge watch Netflix all day. The latter definitely sounds more enticing :)

Family Photo Shoot #3

Ed and I planned another family photo shoot towards the end of last year as we realized we didn't have any nice shots of us as a family of four! Our last photo shoot with Melanie was when Avery was still in the "oven" (just had a quick look back - man, I forgot how huge my belly was! God really helps you swiftly forget so you can continue to have kids... haha). Check out some of the highlights from our latest shoot below, photos by Thomas Ng
