Sunshine Vibes

So I'm on week 3 of crutches and a sprained ankle. I have a major case of cabin fever, and feeling so antsy to walk, run, dance, jump and most importantly, DRIVE! I had to cancel my trip next week to Denver to ski with my family. I'm super bummed about it but like my dad says, "shit happens" right? While we were in Palm Springs last week for a wedding, Feng and I decided to stop for a few minutes to snap a few pictures. We saw these super cute scooters parked in the front of our hotel and asked the owner if we could borrow one for a quick shoot! Here's one of my favorite daytime outfits! You can easily change this into a winter look with some boots and a long coat. I'm so excited to wear turtlenecks again!

Back to the 80s

Found this amazing blazer at Banana Republic with Erin. She came to visit LA recently and we forgot about lunch and dinner and shopped till all the stores closed! We were trying on a bunch of work-friendly blazers and immediately got drawn to this one. It has these amazing shoulder pads that remind me of my mom's closet in the 80's, and the speckled maroon color reminds me of my grandpa's closet. It also has this secret color on the flip side of the collar. I've been wearing it to pretty much every occasion. Check out the green version too (below)!

This necklace is from Portugal! Every time our parents travel, they bring us fun jewelry souvenirs. Super cute!

Stripes and Rips

Do you check your weather app every morning before you get dressed? We do! We are such weather people. Meaning if it's slightly gloomy out, we'll usually wear dark greys, blacks and blues, but when it's sunny out, we love wearing whites, colors and patterns. Summer is almost over and I've already started transitioning myself into Fall sweaters. Usually if I want to be super comfy that day, I'll put on this over-sized stripe sweater from Tobi and pair it with some fun jeans! I'm not a huge fan of large rips/holes in my pants.. it just looks a little sloppy to me, but these are the perfect amount! I'm rocking all Tobi today! :)
Aahh!

Sorry some of these items are sold out but I've found some similar ones for you! :)

So LA

I had a crazy, frustrating weekend - trying to deal with big corporations with horrible customer service. After two days of wasted time, numerous phone calls back and forth, and a lot of waiting around, I've finally moved to downtown! Woohoo! We spent till 4am last night unpacking and it's starting to look really noice!

In honor of DTLA, I wanted to showcase a photo shoot I did with Melly Lee a few weeks ago around the arts district. We did the whole LA shebang - went to Urth Caffe, got a delicious Spanish Latte Granita, went to the bridge, frolicked in the sun.. oh ya know.
These photos are all shot on film cameras. I chose basic colors with a flowy top to accent my gold shoes from anthropologie. Other than my favorite bright colors - orange and yellow, you can always find me in black and white. Gotta love the basics!!

Zipped Up

Since Cali is still in a drought, I feel guilty for loving the summer weather we've been having during winter. Erin and I are both weather girls - meaning our moods are strongly affected by how the weather is each day. And yes, I'm pretty much happy all the time in LA.

My friend and I took advantage of the weather, had a lovely brunch in the sun and took a little stroll around the Americana.
Sorry East Coasters, I know you had to go through some horrific snow storms :( Come to Cali!

If I could wear these articles of clothing every day I would! Especially this scarf from Ampersand! It's very soft, warm and has a zipper in the front. The twill gives it some texture and the burgundy red matches almost all my outfits.

You can find more styles at their store here! They're all hand crafted made in Calgary, Alberta (that's in Canada).
