Good Eats in LA | Blu Jam

As mentioned in this post, my friend came to visit LA and we decided to go grab brunch. We waited in line for an hour or more for some yummy Blu Jam in West Hollywood. We didn't really mind the wait since none of us were dying of hunger and it gave us time to catch up before we stuffed our mouths with food! If you ever get the chance to go there.. I recommend trying the following...
Iced Mocha
Blu Jam Benedict - Black Forest Ham, crispy bacon, topped with hollandaise, served with potatoes
Crunchy French Toast - to die for! Egg brioche dipped in batter, rolled in crunchy corn flakes and grilled to perfection, topped with fresh bananas and berries, served with vanilla bean sauce
Refreshing mint water!
And then we went shopping with Nala..
Hi Nala!

Geometray DIY

Over the weekend, my friend and I went to the West Elm DIY Workshop held at the Costa Mesa store. We made Geometrays! This DIY is from Erica of P.S. I Made This.... She has a lot of cool DIYs to make your home, a little more homey! We were given one hour to decorate our West Elm trays with chalkboard paint and gold tape. It took me so long to figure what process I wanted to take and what design to make that I didn't have time to finish it there. If you're interested, you can check out West Elm's blog and find the next workshop they'll be hosting near you!
Some of us were given cute gold scissors and some of us were given a swiss army knife. I was glad I got a swiss army knife since the airport security took my last one. :(
Not only did they serve Starbucks coffee, but they also provided super cute blue printed napkins!
The half finished product.
This is my first DIY workshop and definitely not my last. It was all and all a super fun experience. I felt like I was in middle school art class again. I usually find fun DIYs to do at home, and sometimes dragging my boyfriend into doing it with me... but it was a great experience doing it with new friends and be able to take something home and use it!

Check out the full DIY here!

You Better Run!

First off, I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to FENG!
His new dance video (that I got to be in) debuted today!
After fighting for hours with YouTube and Warner music to allow the video to be uploaded for creative purposes, I think we have finally won and the video is now live for good. Yay!

If this video made you ready for the weekend, feel free to share it, like it and tweet it!

The New Collection by Ikea

I am super excited about Ikea's newest Stockholm Collection. It's fun, bright and supposedly very durable. It launched in Europe in April and only recently launched in the US. Inspired by the 50s and 60s, designer Ola Wihlberg wanted The Stockholm Collection to be like a family. "Each piece is individual but held together by a common thread". This collection is definitely competing with the specialty furniture stores in regards to its quality, design and low prices.
I must say, I love it! The collection is cohesive in terms of palette, style and shape. I love the natural wood and the matte finishes on some of the items, and I especially enjoy the yellow and green accents in the cabinet and the chairs. As for the durability? I'm not quite sure.. so let me know if you get your hands on one of these items!

In my experience, I tried to take apart a bed frame when I was moving and one of the latches to secure the screw was stuck. I asked 2 of my guy friends to try and pull it apart but it wouldn't budge, the boards wouldn't even break! (stupid me) I realized I needed to turn the latch till I found the sweet spot and slowly wiggle it out. Soo.. I would say it's probably pretty durable!

my boyfriend styles me

Whenever I have a hard time putting an outfit together, I’ll ask Feng for help. When I was younger, Trisha would be my stylist. I remember I would pick something up off the rack and she would give me a look and I would immediately put it back. But now that we don't live together, I found a replacement.

So here’s an outfit he put together for me. I found these super comfy pants and couldn’t decide what to pair them with. He went through my clothes and picked out a few items to highlight the pants. What do you guys think?
